Email users are expected to expand from 4.3 billion to 4.6 billion by 2025. That is more than half of the world’s population. With such vast marketing potential, firms require email marketing more than ever when expanding their brand.
The first step in email marketing is to build an email list. Having an email list allows you to interact with your customers, subscribers, and prospects about new business changes.
There are a million reasons but in today’s post, I’m going to share the top 5 reasons why you need an email list in 2023.
Just on the side…Having an email subscriber list for your newsletter opens up many possibilities for bloggers.
And you want to take advantage of those opportunities, don’t you? Growing your blog entails focusing on techniques that will help you achieve your objectives.
One of these growth techniques is to create an email list. In this essay, I’ll go through some of the most compelling reasons to begin growing an email list. My goal is to motivate you to start today!
So let’s get started!
1. Increased Brand Loyalty and Engagement
With email marketing, you can actually reach the individuals you want to target AND get them to actively connect with what you’re delivering… I’m not just talking about a double tap or an emoji; I’m talking about involvement that leads to real, measurable outcomes in your organisation.
This is not a debate between email marketing and social media, but if you’re putting all of your eggs in one basket, that needs to change. I know how hard you work to build your following on social media but if you notice less than 20% of your Instagram followers will view your posts in 2023?! And less than 10% will engage with your post.
If this blows your mind as much as it does mine, let us all agree: it’s time to establish your own email list! With an email list at your disposal, you have the ability to reach a much larger audience and create more engagement. Say goodbye to your meager 20% Instagram reach and hello to a whole new level of connection and impact.
Imagine this: when you send an email to your list, 100% of your subscribers will see it in their inbox and make the conscious option to open, read, or delete it. Of course, getting people to open and read your emails is a discussion for another day and another show – but you know without a doubt that everyone will SEE what you’re
A friendly reminder: likes and comments don’t pay the bills, therefore it’s time to build an email list that can increase your capacity to contact the people you want to target and boost the forms of engagement that lead to concrete results in your business.
2. Direct and Personalized Communication
One of the reasons I enjoy having an email list is that it allows me to communicate with YOU directly. To me, showing up in your email inbox is a really intimate manner of communicating, and I don’t take that honour lightly. I know you don’t give out your email to just ‘anyone,’ so I always make sure there’s VALUE in what I send – and you can do the same for your audience.
Having an email list implies that when we want to inspire our audience, teach them something, or offer them a behind-the-scenes peek at our business, we don’t have to rely on social media algorithms to see it.
Unlike social media posts, emails arrive directly in your inbox, offering a more personal connection and a better probability of engagement. Simply said, email subscribers are far more valuable than social media followers since they have willingly submitted their contact information, demonstrating a higher level of interest and dedication to your business or content.
Email subscribers did not simply click the “follow” button; they filled out a form and raised their hand to show they WANT direct connection with you! Email subscribers are more open to your messages, products, and are interested in what you have to say.
You may also personalize your emails by inserting your subscribers’ names in the field, which you cannot do on social media because you are shouting to the masses. In reality, just one small truth makes a HUGE difference.
3. Ownership and Control of your Audience
You may be the largest Instagram influencer with millions of followers, making gobs of money from business agreements and sponsorships-but what if you are hacked?
Or suppose a global pandemic occurs and you need to quickly get in touch with your customers and clients to let them know how they can best support you, but you realize that only a fraction of people are seeing your posts and they aren’t even the right people.
Yeah, we can’t just rely on social media any longer.
Bottom line: If you’re not focusing on your email list and putting all of your marketing eggs in one basket, you’re putting your SALES at risk.
Perhaps one of the most significant advantages of building an email list is that you have complete ownership and control over your audience. Social media platforms can change their algorithms or even shut down, leaving you with limited access to your followers.
However, with an email list, you have direct access to your subscribers, regardless of any external factors. This control allows you to nurture long-term relationships and ensures that your marketing efforts are not solely reliant on third-party platforms.
4. Building Long-Term Relationships
Email Newsletter Lists Give You Trusting Followers
An email list allows you to establish and nurture long-term relationships with your audience. By consistently delivering valuable content and offers, you can position yourself as an authority in your industry and build trust with your subscribers.
Over time, this trust can lead to repeat business and customer loyalty. With an email list, you have a direct line of communication to keep your audience updated on new offerings, company updates, or industry insights, fostering a sense of community and engagement.
Consider the following path for someone who has subscribed to your email list:
- They came across your website and loved what they read. The lead magnet
piqued their curiosity, so they joined up.
- They’re now on your weekly email newsletter list and receive wonderful
suggestions and ideas from you on a regular basis.
- Your individuality is showing through, and people like YOU – your own brand.
- Because you’re providing them with useful information, their trust in you is
Growing your email newsletter list provides you with a large group of people who will be more eager to visit your site, provide feedback when requested, and purchase your products.
5. Higher Conversion Rates
Better than direct mail. Better than social media. And definitely
better than billboards.
Why? Because according to at least one report, email generates $36 for every $1 you spend in building it. That’s a 3500% return on your investment. How many other assets in your business give you that kind of a return?
The final two-parter: numerous studies have proven that email campaigns have considerably higher conversion rates than other marketing strategies. People use social media to be entertained, educated, or diverted, but when they open their mailbox, they mean business.
It’s almost as if emails have this mystical ability to have consumers reach for their wallets and click the “buy now” button. That means more tangible results like sales, my friend, and as you make more sales, your business grows like crazy.
This indicates that, on average, firms can expect a 36-TIMES return on their investment in email marketing initiatives. So, if you want to make sure your valuable time is spent on the right things and in the right locations, email is the place to be.
Have I persuaded you to start an email list yet?
If not, I’m not sure what else to say… Between the expanded reach, conversion rates, and the fact that you have greater ownership and control, it’s a no-brainer for entrepreneurs serious about growing their brand, and it’s time to take the leap!
